Super Summer 2009
Sales
September 26, 2009
We want to take a moment to thank the 1000s of customers who kept Summer 2009 booming here at Remote Control Warehouse. You'd never know there was an economic slowdown, if you had to answer the phones or process orders here this summer. And we're grateful for your business.
Going into the summer months, the conventional wisdom was that all online retailers would have significant reductions in sales as consumers pinched pennies and worried about income issues.
Now it seems that folks opted to stay home, rent a RedBox movie, watch sports or play video games... and still needed to replace broken or missing remotes.
The digital changeover stirred business as well. The cable companies did a poor job of informing the public about the need or lack thereof to get a $40 digital converter box, and many people decided to take out the rainy-day piggybank and grab a sale priced flat panel tv. Maybe that was just an excuse to jump to flat panel HD, but I have to admit that I'm dying for my own (admittedly flawlessly performing) JVC CRT tv to catch a stray lightning bolt... then I'm off to Best Buy for a $500 32" flat-boy :)
Anyway, with all the economic uncertainty today we're humbled that so many of you choose Remote Control Warehouse every day and entrust us with your business. A friend who's a top performer in Nashville's high-end real estate market told me last week that they are seeing a definite upswing in sales... that they are "first in the tank and first out", and that the market is looking better every day. Hang in there, and enjoy your Fall sports events (tv and real life)!
